2. Oh please
This weekends Newsweek poll has Bush dropping to 51%. But did you hear that on MSNBC? Gallup is the worst polling company around. Remember during the 2000 elections when they had 15 point swings for Gore one day, then the next day Bush would have a 15 point swing his way. Then Gallup had to go on a PR campaign to justify there results. Another example is Gallups poll in the begining of 2001 that showed Clinton had a 69% approval rating, highest of any outgoing President in history. For this to be true, this would have required a large amount of republicans saying they approve of Clinton. And that didnt happen. Did MSNBC mention that this poll has his reelect at 38%.

11. Yes, they did mention his reelect number
It has remained consistent for the past several months at 38-42%. That's the ONLY number I pay attention to.

4. All this means is ...
that the American Sheeple approve of him more when he tells them what they want to hear.

If AWOL spent more time actually doing the things that he says he is doing (or going to do), then he wouldn't have to spend as much time convincing people of what he is doing.

Don't listen to what they say. Look at what they do.

Cheers
Drifter

6. The thing about the poll
Is either shotty polling or good marketing to the American people. Sure, Bush's approval rating is higher according to Gallup, but all of the other indicators (i.e. Economy 42 percent, World Affairs 49 percent, Iraq 47 percent) show him doing somewhat poorly. Makes ya thing, don't ya know!!!

7. See pollkatz.com to show that only
Zogby had him in the mid 40s. The rest had him in the low 50s.

8. I sent a letter to MSNBC
I also tried to send one to Reuters, the source of the article, but neither their "Contact Us" or "Editorial Feedback" links would work.

10. That Poll is Being Spun Big Time !

The lowest Bush has been in the CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll in the last 2 years is
50 percent, and that was in the 9-19-03 to 9-21-03 poll.

The CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll from 10-6-03 to 10-08-03 had Bush at 55 percent,
so his approval rating only went up 1 percent in the new 10-10-03 to 10-12-03
CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll.

The newsweek poll from 10-9-03 to 10-10-03 has Bush at 51 percent approval, that
is down from 52 percent approval in the 9-25-03 to 9-26-03 newsweek poll.

The CBS News/New York Times Poll from 9-28-03 to 10-01-03 has Bush at 51 percent
approval, that is also down from the 52 percent approval he had in the CBS News/New
York Times Poll taken on 9-15-03 to 9-16-03.

The only poll that had Bush below 50 percent was the one zogby poll. The media has
taken the one poll that has Bush at 56 percent approval and used it. And they claim he
rebounded from a 45 percent approval, which is a lie. All the polls had him at 51 percent
or higher except zogby.

BTW The CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll only sampled adults over 18, they did not sample
likely or registered voters.

And the zogby poll from 9-22-03 to 9-24-03 had Bush at 50 percent not 45 percent, the
zogby poll that had Bush at 45 percent was taken way back on 9-3-03. And the zogby poll
sample was taken by likely voters.

9. To make it worse
I heard one of the MSNBC anchors preface the reporting of these numbers with, "And the good news is..." Not, "Good news for president Bush," mind you, but "THE good news" -- as if what's good for Bush is good for everybody.

Disgusting.
