I don't want to pledge allegiance to the flag. I don't want to pledge allegiance to the country that is fighting in Iraq, that's destroying democracy, that destroying our economy, taking away our freedoms.

I don't want to pledge allegiance to PNAC and conservatism.

I don't want to pledge allegiance to any flag or country period.

2. Sadly, I also will not say the pledge, nor fly the flag, ....

nor stand for the anthem..and haven't since eary 2002. This is no longer MY country, it's been turned into an ugly, cruel, war mongering, greedy, unethical, fascist one instead!!

... he's just borrowing it. Scratch that he stole it, but it still isn't his. It's your America and it's my America as much as it is anybody else's. This is the trap we let ourselves fall into, disdaining something previously held dear because someone repugnant has laid a claim upon it.

I want my country back.

And I agree with you, why pledge to a symbol anyway? You can love your country without bleating about it loudly in public
