"I was on the flight deck when Bush landed"
"I was on the flight deck when Bush landed," said one sailor, who did not want his name printed. "It was a slap in the face."

(yes, it's a Clark article but I was afraid some on GD might miss that sweet sweet quote if they thought it was a partisan thread.)

* has to be losing the support of the armed forces more and more every day.... as if real soldiers and sailors couldn't see through the chickenhawk posturing.

1. Duh
We knew that when the infamous soldier said "If donald rumsfield were here right now, I'd ask for his resignation"

2. I remember watching
that PR stunt and once the camera panned to the soldiers. Many were not clapping or cheering. Some did look pissed. Their return had been delayed a day sp Bunnypants could strut his stuff.

I would suspect that there are many disgruntled troops who don't think much of their CIC.

8. Couple of other reasdons why they weren't clapping...
and cheering.

I'm sure they had to do extra duty to get the ship up a notch.

All of the extra crap that goes along with htis visit would have upset the routine.

I'm sure the enlisted men and women felt really good about bush living it up with the brass, while they were down in the galley eating rewarmed hash and eggs. bush is so 'class oriented' he would never haver thought of going into the enlisted mess and dealing with those that really do all the work.

:grr: :nuke:

4. I love the quote at the end:
All of this sounded good to the attendees last night. Even Clark's Webcast got a rousing cheer when he vowed, "It's going to take a lot more than five Supreme Court justices to keep George Bush in the White House."

9. this paragraph makes me cry.
USA-- -“That’s a real dumb fu..ing question to ask me. You know what my rank is, of course I knew them, I was the head NCO for years in our unit. I knew most of the guys who died and I held a lot of hands as they were dying. You tell me that’s not gonna to give you nightmares!”

“I had one guy tell me all he wanted was to see his little daughter; she was born three days after the war started. He died in the sand holding my hand and crying because his daughter would never know him. Tell me that’s fu..ing right. Where was George Bush when this kid was gasping for air and spitting his blood on foreign soil?”
