"If you can't say anything nice..." Media heeds Bush Junta instructions.
Since the latest salvo of Bushco's spin that the media is covering Iraq unfairly, silicone breast implants, the Pope and Kobee Bryant have permeated the airwaves as the "news de jour."

The media gave a few stories about the comment and added a little righteous indignatation for flavor but slithered back into their resespective holes and did the bidding of their master.

Virtually NO bad news about Iraq. The senate hearings were/are being held today on the $83 billion. Kennedy and Byrd were both brilliant and called spades spades. Both Senators basically called Bush and his administration liars. They seem to be ignored.

A senator calling the President a liar on the Senate floor isn't news? 700 soldiers from Iraq arriving at Walter Reed DAILY is less news worthy than silicon vs. saline boob jobs?

Which is it? Major news has no spine or are they essentially bought off by the money making and weilding RNC?

1. Ted Koppel
did'nt back down from Dan Burton on Nightline last night. They had what seemed to be a pretty heated exchange when Ted called them on some whitehouse spin ( I forgot his name ) that the Iraqi war reconstruction would only cost 1.7 billion. Also Paul Wolfovist saying the Iraqi oil would pay for reconstruction, no problem.

3. Saw that! Ted even recommend that the administration start leveling
with the people. Thought it was pretty good dig and reinforced the lies coming from Bushco. If we can't believe what the misadministration is saying, don't be surprised when we don't believe it's all good over in Iraq.

2. the media
IF bush doesn't "like" the things they report..then perhaps they should just stop reporting all his stupid speechs and campaign stops in the states and across the world......he should get NO coverage of any kind!!!

4. Well they weren't nice last night!! Koppel ripped them good,
especially condeming them for their attempts to "manipulate" the media, and then there was Scott Pelley's inteview with Greg Thielmann on 60 Minutes II. Both programs smashed this mis-administration in the face! Granted, viewership was low because of the games, but hopefully we'll see this repeated during the course of the week.
