Why are there so few news articles about Thielmanns revelations?
The 60 Minutes piece last night was great. Not only Thielmann, but several other very credible experts. Although most of us here already knew that Powell lied to the world at the UN, most Americans do not. There are currently only 35 listings at Google News with the keyword Thielmann and most of those are duplicates, overseas, from left wing smaller publications, or old. I've heard that there is some kind of "24 hour" rule on news stories, but since the NYT has a story on it, that doesn't seem right. What is going on? The media is picking up on some other stories that hurt * and company, why not this one?

1. Because if the truth be told by the media about what has transpired...
It would REQUIRE, it would be our OBLIGATION to overthrow this junta. And I really don't think any of these cowards have the stomach to put the country through something so huge, so devastating as to threaten the very democracy they like to hold up as an example to the world.

2. Oddly, the only other major US news that has picked this up
other than the NYT and of course CBS, is the Moonie Times. It's a very short article there.

3. You know why. You may be in denial but you know the long list...
This has been going on your whole life.

5. I do know why, but recently I had begun to have hope
I had even considered changing my tagline with some recent stories seeming to have at least a little staying power. This just seemed too big to ignore, especially with 60 minutes leading with it. I guess I'll keep the tagline. *sigh*

6. Still nothing
Please call your congress peeps and ask if they watched the segment. We need to keep this from dying. Call your news media and ask why they aren't covering this story.

It is maddening how this story is being so blatently ignored. I wonder how Greg Thielmann feels after putting his life at stake? - given the BFEE record, I don't think that's overstating things.

7. E-mails to the media
This is a case where polite but clear e-mails ought to be sent to the media to "bring it to their attention." I know it may be an exercise in futility, but if enough take a couple of minutes to do it, it would at least let them know people are paying attention. And it's actually worked before.

9. Good point
Look how long it took for the media to break on any of the revelations from Enron to doctored intel to the Wilson leak. Even more than promoting Bush they serve him by protecting him because he protects their interests. It is as much about what they don't report as it is what they report.

Nothing will change until corporate influence is checked from our government and the media is regulated to prevent it from being monopolized by business interests that support the politics that support their bottom lines. It is going to take a new kind of politics to break through this stranglehold and what we are up against will not go down without a dirty fight.

If only we had Lou Grant reporting the news....;-)

8. We all know why:
The media is busy...

1) Telling us how everything is wonderful in Iraq

2) Touting junior's victory (sic) at the UN

3) Marveling over conjoined twin operations

4) Nit picking Koby Bryant-Peterson's case

5)Trashing Clark's perfect military record because he pissed off
boltheads.

Yes, the media is too busy shilling and lying to shoehorn in any investigative reporting about America being lied to and manipulated by the regime.

10. Nah...
It's because the interview never happened! Don't you know that Baseball had it's highest ratings ever for game 7 of the Cubs-Marlins? In Chicago alone, 61% of ALL tvs were tuned to the game.
Get your priorities straight!
(NBC understood this by cxling "Wet Wings" and "Order of Slaw")
