This is from an article yesterday, about the Denver protesters outside of the gwb fundraiser.

Some eyebrow-raising signs - like "Free Saddam He Did Nothing to You" - were held by Republicans trying to undermine the protest, they admitted.

"It's all part of the game," said Conor McGahey, a University of Denver student and executive director of the Colorado Federation of College Republicans. "I just wish they could keep rhythm on the drum."

Just like chickenhawks who never served, hide behind soldiers, these chickens***s who are afraid to make a stand hide behind legitimate protesters.

However, a LTTE in this morning's paper, shines the light on this scummy tactic. We see through you, you weak kneed, lily livered cowards!

The Post's report on the anti-Bush protest on Tuesday included this striking revelation: "Some eyebrow-raising signs - like 'Free Saddam He Did Nothing to You' - were held by Republicans trying to undermine the protest, they admitted."

Conor McGahey, a University of Denver student and executive director of the Colorado Federation of College Republicans, was quoted as saying, "It's all part of the game."

If McGahey is typical of young Republican leadership, then "the culture of corruption" is more than just a catchphrase. The message that young people receive in Republican student organizations would appear to be that winning by any means is all that matters. Moral and ethical considerations do not.

If deceit and dirty tricks are "all part of the game," then talking up ethical, moral, religious and family values must be as well. People who really believe in those things behave accordingly. They know that the ends do not justify the means because the means are the way we choose to live our lives every day. The means make us who we are.

BTW, if you have a couple of minutes both the article and other LTTE's provide enjoyable reading. MKJ

1. sad
Unfortunately, the reason so many young Republicans are acting like this is that nobody on our side has the power to do anything about it.

The corruption of power is evident.

2. Sometimes, I get discouraged that the "win at any cost" crowd will
steamroll us, by sheer outrageous greed and corruption. But, then I see how eventually, doing the right thing always wins. Always. It just isn't happening fast enough for me. MKJ

3. Thank you for that observation.
It still comes down to the ends NOT justifying the means. I agree. When one resort to falsehood and deception - generally this is a sign of weakness. Some of these folks are "9 Commandment " Christians. They just can't quite get to loving thy neighbor. They can't argue a case fairly with underlying facts or rules of reason, but character attacks ? No problem.
