Juan Cole is eye-opening today...
Edited on Thu Dec-01-05 11:15 AM by Dhalgren
Just part of one of his entries:
"I have heard from contacts in Iraq that the soldiers in the new army often don't get their paychecks, and aren't properly equipped, and sometimes are reduced to selling their bullets on the black market. Guess who buys them?"

How bad is it going to get in Iraq? And as a result, how bad here?

6. This is just one of the many things Bush tries to hide
and uses (ill)Logical phrases to gain favor with the masses.

From what I've read, if our technology with equipment were the same today as in Vietnam our casualties would be MUCH higher. In other words, a huge percentage of our soldiers who have been severely injured would be dead.

Are we planning to equip the Iraqi forces with the same state of the art technology as our forces have? Many of our forces have had to pay for their own armour, so who will pay for the Iraqi's IF they are to get it?

Huge fucking mess.
