Fox News Steps Up to Defend Christmas in our Nation's Hour of Need
Talk about raw guts editorial policy. While the Dukester sinks into the corruption swamp and Rove swings slowly in the wind and DeLay’s minion Michael Scanlon turns his coat to match the color of convenience and Congressman Murtha refuses to back down and General Pace gives Boss Rummy a live lesson in decency in front of the press corps and Little George makes a major 4th down and 10 to go speech in which he says absolutely NOTHING—at this hour of crisis what does Fox decide to do?

They cut away from Natalee Holloway and, defying the ferocious forces of relativism and multiculturalism, they take this bold stand: on either side of practically every commercial break the Fox Face of the Moment is uttering the word “Christmas”—as in “Merry.” Instead of “Happy” as in “Holidays,” the preferred expression of bicoastal elites who have been oppressing Christian America under the regime of political correctness for lo these many years.

Gosh. That’s awesome courage. The Terrorists don’t have a chance against people willing to dare so much...

5. Republican fund-raising at its funniest
FOX sounds like The 700 Club.

DeLay must be desperate if he's down to raiding fundy piggy banks.

8. Fox message: Happy Distraction
Got to keep the base stirred up over things that are really of minor importance. Does it matter that we really aren't safe at home (ie FEMA and Katrina), that we're bogged down in Iraq in a war that is creating more terrorists and making us more and more distrusted by the world at large? NO! What matters is that the stickers I just finished putting on our invoices say "XXXXXX Company Wishes You a Happy Holiday Season." BTW, so far no one has objected.

10. I say "blessed solstice" since it is, after all, MY holyday, or, on
occasion, "blessed yule". here in fundieville, it always irritates them.

of course, for a different perspective, one year a jewish friend was visiting during the holidays, and upon seeing the tree, offered, "wow, a great chanuka bush"

these people are living proof that, as bill engvahl says, some people have wayyyyyyyy too much time on their hands.
