Tim Robbins: "Hillary Clinton can kiss my butt."
HRC's Lost The Tim Robbins Vote

Actor/activist Tim Robbins, talking to Air America's Marc Maron this a.m.: "Hillary Clinton can kiss my butt. That ridiculous, ridiculous statement she made about the war . . . First of all, for supporting it in the first place, an second of all this sort of equivocate now . . . I mean, it's that terrible strategy the Democratic Party has had that has wound up in lost elections, lost Senate control, lost Congressional control. You gotta have a backbone."

because he and his lovely wife supported Nader in 2000. No difference between Gore and Bush etc etc etc. Yeah, flame me. But first go back to November 2000 and do the math.

108.  So can I kiss it too?
I voted for Nader in 2000. Because I don't know about you, but I like to act like I live in a democracy and vote for the people who represent me best. And while I wasn't totally turned off by Gore, there is no way in HELL I was gonna cast a vote for Joe Lieberman.

And, for the record, Gore actually WON the election in 2000. Feel free to blame Nader, but all you accomplish by blaming Nader is diverting attention from REAL reasons Gore actually lost. So you do that, and I'll spend my time working to fix our election system.

12. Indeed can we memo that to Fox news, the media, the DLC
they will, however, label us the "radical" far left wing. I originally supported the war, admited I was wrong and have become a bit more radicalized. If this war, these lies, this incompetent, horrible neo-fascist time in America hasn't made you more "radical", then I don't understand.

Her stand on the war is comical, and her stand on violence in video games is outright laughable.

If, god help me, she gets the nomination, I will be looking else where to put my vote.

Until she grows a spine and calls for an immediate withdrawal, she will never ever get my vote.

great.
He was also very supportive of Marc Maron..saying that he thought the AAR management was not making the best decision by pushing Marc Maron and the humor out of the morning spot. He was diplomatic about it, but he let his opinion be known. Tim specifically asked for Sammy Stemcell to come and talk to him.

Tim Robbins AND Susan Sarandon are both going to be on Morning Sedition next week.

I hate to encourage dem bashing, but it just does make one craZy that these seemingly intelligent people such as Hillary voted like blind sheep to support an immoral pre-emptive war and an obviously untrustworthy administration.

She and all the other spineless dems can kiss my butt as well as Tim's. And they better start writing some personal checks to all the families of innocent Iraqi's we've slaughtered as well.

50. Everybody sing the "Hillary is an Asshole" Song! -comeon singalong!
(sing to "broken hearts are for assholes, by Frank Zappa)

Hillary! Do you know what you are? You're an ASSHOLE!

AN ASSHOLE!

Some of you might not agree
'Cause you probably likes a lot of misery
But think a while and you will see...
Hillary bitch is an asshole!
An sellout DLC Asshole?
Are you an asshole?
DLC bitch is an asshole
Are you an asshole too?
Whatcha gonna do, 'cause you're an asshole.. .

Maybe you think you're a liberal guy
Maybe you think you're too tough to cry
So listened to Hillary
Just to give her a try

And HILLARY
Without a doubt, the most undemocratic Democrat
Was her name...
One Two Three Four!
She was lying about Iraq to pander pycho neocons thru her
Pancake make-up
And yet he was a beautiful lady
Nearly drove you insane
Let's talk about Violent Video games: Booooo!
And so you kissed a little Chalabi
ExBaathist shiites, starring in the latest Shepperton Production:
Who had just blew up Spain
"Sir Achmed Pump-A-Loaf"
You sniffed the reeking buns of Lieberman
The story of a demented Defense co-boffer
And acted like it was cocaine
Rumsfeld pud annexed to a fine whole-wheat loaf
You were dazzled by the exciting neocon money
Then on Tuesday night,
Clintonism back in town
In a way you can't explain
Facing off in a no-holds-barred tag team grudge match With Casto. .
And so you worked the torture cell in Romania
Three-hundred-seventy-nine pounds of Venezuelan crude oil
Which gave your back an awful strain
US Torture is HELL
But you came back on Sunday for the Talking Head shows
Next Thursday, raping little boys for fun
But you forgot what I was sayin'
'Cause you're an asshole,
You're an asshole
That's right
You're an ass

Oh, I'm no fan of Sen. Clinton, but Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon were pimping for Nader in 2000.

If it wasn't for self-righteous twits like them, * never would've been installed in the White House in the first place. Robbins should've had his act together then.

53. I don't really like Hillary that much, I basically like Tim Robbins, BUT
This is another example of the accepting of this LIE that the congressional resolution was a declaration of support for what the administration did, popularized largely by our current dishonest blowhard party chairman, or atleast HIS campaign and campaign chairmen, and their many not-interested-in-the-truth zealots all over the internet and across the nation.

to do what he wanted to do. How is that any better than a vote to go to war? It was clear what Bush wanted and he got it. Semantics doesn't change that.

SECRET,' PROPRIETARY programming code in the new electronic voting machines--they control the primaries as well.

So, get ready for these rightwing Bush donors, who own and control our election system, to choose your candidate for president.

Throw Diebold and ES&S election theft machines into 'Boston Harbor' NOW!

Tim? Susan? Michael? Barbara? Whoopie? We need a high profile person to do it! Into the 'Harbor' NOW!

"Yeah, lets make it look like its a real CONTEST! We'll choose the players, of course, and the outcome, and even if we let a Democrat in the office, we'll still control the agenda."

Does the National Security State apparatus have that much power?

Can they get away with murder?

They have for 40 years, and longer.

Most of the Dems I see on the news do not have my sense of outrage, about the issues we are facing because they voted in favor of them. Not because they believed in the issue but because it's what some consultant told them that the center wanted.

68. I'm glad to have dems to posit as far left and centrist.
The republicans have been successfully depicting all dems as "far left" despite the considerable range of opinion.

With regard to their own party, however, they have managed to keep the far right and centrist positions moving ever more to the right, and "distancing" their "centrists" from the far right.

It's all posturing - the repub "centrists" tend to be in lock step with the far right, even though they say they're not. We need to be able to do the same so as to a. keep the base fired up and b. draw in undecideds.

(Mind you, there actually are some real repub centrists - they're not who I'm talking about.)

80. So, instead of simply answering "I don't know," they
pick Clinton?

And these people allege they're Democrats, too?

Of course, I'm going to laugh like hell if either of these scenarios happen:
1. Hillary doesn't run. Can you imagine the wingnuts' dilemma if they've bilked their constituents out of hundreds and thousands of dollars to keep Hillary out of the White House and she doesn't even run!?
OR:
2. Hillary runs and falls flat on her face as the Democratic faithful - those who actually know politics and vote in primaries - vote en masse for someone else, particularly in Iowa and New Hampshire.

89. There are a couple reasons why polls show her on top
1) If you look at how she out-polled all other Democrats in 2004, even though she didn't run, it was a reflection of how pitiful our field of candidates was for that election year. As it turns out, the polls were right. I have no doubts that Hillary would've been the strongest candidate, had she run. As for the next time around, let's just hope we have a little stronger selection to pick from than we did last time.

2) Hillary is underestimated on this forum....by a longshot. She's more of a true Democrat than people give her credit for. If she wasn't, the right wing wouldn't be losing so much sleep over her becoming our next president. They hate her passionately because she stands for everything they DON'T stand for.

I don't know who's more afraid of Hillary, the right wing or DU'ers. Sometimes I hope she runs just to so I can see what all the naysayers have to say after she wins. :smoke:

94. Actually, I feel its more "oh don't throw me in that briar patch, brer fox
than that republicans are losing sleep over her candidacy.
Why else would they be giving her all the free support and publicity?
Its like they are with Joe Lieberman...they bend over backwards to make public statements of how POWERFUL they are as democrats.

for that reason alone I'm suspicious, sorry.

I'm distrustful of the sources of political help she's getting and the political recipients of her votes and actions.

in not all of her actions, mind. I like a lot of what she's done, but when BOTH the RNC and the DLC keep crowing about the same candidate, I get suspicious.

114. See... I live in a "red" state and know she won't win.
I know how the mushy middle is in red states. They're not going to vote for a woman during a war (or the pull-out of one). It's not exactly sexism, it's more "militarism," in the sense that people just think a male would be better (yes, that sexism, but I don't think it's intentional, really - and I'm speaking of the swing voters, not the cretins on the Reich).

It's not that I doubt her Dem creds - I just don't see her flipping ANY red state and possibly losing at least one blue state, namely Pennsylvania and possibly Michigan.

You can't win with odds like that.

93. Good for him! and hes 100% right.
He is 100% right. The Dem party does not have a plan these days really for anything. They are only good at making fun of how others run things, but thats not good enough. They need to come out with concrete plans that differ from the other side and then go fight for them.

The party today does very little of that. They are afraid of standing up for anything for the most part. Sure you risk when you stick yourself out, but unless you do you win nothing.

Democrats have become very apologetic when it comes to the word "liberal". This has enabled the other side to broadly define our side with un-truths.

This is some of what robbins was trying to say and I agree with him.

113. Why all this dunking on Hillary?
I do think we need to get out of Iraq, but I also think that we cannot just up and leave.

We ripped that country to shreds and bombing the hell out of it. And I think it was an illegal invasion.

However, I think we have an obligation to help restore that country. If you go over someone's house, and you spill grape juice on their rug, you aren't just going to walk out of the house without cleaning it up.

What I think Congress needs to do, is a better job on oversight. They need to DEMAND regular updates from the Administration, as well as a true exit strategy.

And if the Administration doens't fulfill those requests by required dates, THEN Congress needs to think about de-funding the war.
