L. Logan, CBS News "US Marines are surrounded by AL-QAIDA Fighters"!
Lara Logan reporting from Ramadi said that the US Marines fighting today after and attack by many insurgents said" at one point the US Marines were surrounded by Al-Qaida fighters"!?? WTF?

1. I doubt that. I don't think anybody was killed at the base

4 others were killed today though.

Also, how do they know they were Qaeda? There are so few in Iraq that I don't think they would swarm anything. That's not their MO. The WH is probably trying to get the media to call every insurgent an Al Qaeda now.

there was a major assault on US forces in Ramadi, but by Al-Qaida forces? I don't think so!

I would say the chances are higher these are homegrown Iraqi fighters from various different resistance groups.

had been taking over whole blocks, and that there were no US troops in the area.
