If a murderer "accepted Christ" while on death row, what would the RWers
say about it? Would they "forgive" him/her because of the fact that he/she "accepted Christ as his/her personal saviour" and plea for clemency?

2. Nope. Remember Carla Fay Tucker?
She was on death row in TX, got religion (apparently was sincere about it), asked Bush for clemency when he was governor, and he turned her down, then mocked her on national TV.

19. Definitely didn't seem like
a pseudo-jail house conversion.

Even her jailers wanted her to live because of the good she did other prisoners and had been for many years.

I was struck in an interview when King talked about her mom getting her into drugs at the age of 8 and other things and blaming her crime on that. She gently brushed it off saying that many children have very bad upbringing, but at some point you are responsible for your choices.

She took responsibility in ways that bush would never dream of. She also seemed quite open to the death penalty, to dying.

If there is true conversion she was the real thing. That by their fruits you shall know them thing the bible talks about. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

She seemed to live those things after her conversion.
Do bush and his followers?

3. They pled for Karla Tucker's (was that her name?) life before Bush
had her put to death in Texas.
Now, I'd imagine a black man on death row who converted wouldn't get so much sympathy from the "christian" crowd.

5. Remember Karla Faye Tucker?
She was on death row in TX when w was gov, and she "found Christ" and pleaded for gov w to spare her life, and he publicly mocked her plea, before denying it, in essence, killing her.

I think I got all that right.

And that's how I'd see the rw react. "Carry out the penalty" they would chant. No doubt.

6. See "Tucker, Carla Faye".
The RWers would ask themselves "WWWD" (What Would Dubyah Do)?

They would then - emulating the walking, breathing, pretzel-gagging avatar of their Lord and Saviour Jesus W. Christ - laugh and mock her as they sent her off to be executed.

16. This quote is from an article by Bow Tie Boy, Tucker Carlson.

Google: tucker carlson, carla faye tucker. lots there.

edit: it was George Bush, as reported by C. Tucker, who was mocking C. F. Tucker before he killed her.

9. They would forgive him/her as long
as he/she was not a democrat or Gay. The religion part has been taken care of.

10. Well, if you look at the New Testament, a thief who converted on the cross
next to Jesus was still killed but went to heaven. ("This day, you will be with me in Paradise.")

That kind of sucks as a precedent, but there it is, for what it's worth.

12. Charlie Manson is the pro life head of his prison
so yes indeed that's why the scum bag hasn't been executed. Funny thing is that he and Dubya worship the same kind of god that tells them them to go out and kill people

14. Actually...
...the reason Bad Time Charlie will never be executed is that his and his "girls'" death sentences were commuted to life (with the possibility of parole, which amazes me) when California threw out DP (albeit temporarily) in, I think, '74.

But I wouldn't worry about him making parole. Ever.

And Charlie's no Christian, of the * variety or otherwise -- unless that's his latest act. Or he's decided he's Jesus again.

15. Or was I thinking of David Berkowitz that I was thinking of?
One of the people at my old church - which I had a major falling out by the way- gave me that nugget of info - so take it for a grain of salt. I should of put the misnomer in there when I originally posted it. Oh I agree with your last sentance complety. Its all an act. But how many people believe that Bush is a christian ?

17. a.k.a. The Church O' Son O' Sam...
Yep, Berkowitz has turned into a major prison preacher. Or you might have been thinking of Charles "Tex" Watson -- Charlie Manson's right hand, the one who did most of the actual killing at the Tate house.

Tex "ministers" in prison -- which is A-OK by me; hey, he could actually be doing somebody some good in there.

What enrages me in the fact that he's been allowed to marry while in prison, and has fathered four kids (that I know of). Aside from the fact that a coldblooded murderer can get married in prison while a clean, law-abiding (but queer) American like me can't, the idea of all those conjugal visits drives me nuts. I believe in rehabilitation over punishment, but this business with Watson really sticks under my skin.

</rant off>

For the record, Susan Atkins -- Charlie's "girl" who committed most of the rest of the mayhem over those two bloody nights -- found Jesus in the 1970s, and wrote one of the world's most bizarre autobiographies, Child of Satan, Child of God. It's well worth reading if you can find it (it's out of print), if only for photo captions such as "My smile is because of Jesus."

Atkins has also been married -- twice -- while in prison.

</off-topic stuff off>

I can understand more people believing Manson is a Christian than believing * is a Christian. After all, Charlie's a much better actor. LOL
