1. no
they really thought it would be a cakewalk; they were so sure of it they didn't bother to consult with one single expert in Middle Eastern history/culture

2. I think it has, I think they got the billions they came for
Either from raping the Iraq treasury right as the war began (billions and billions) the contracting funds, the stolen oil that spills onto the market as we speak, and the future rebuilding contracts sure to go toward "favored" multi-nationals, they got what they wanted.

The lives of the sons, and daughters, fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles meant nothing to them as long as they weren't their's.

It's money that they need. Nothing more. And the billions more to rebuild the broken military when the war is over. No one things about these numbers. Everyone looks at one facet. But the common denominator is money, no matter the source.

And with Wolfowitz in charge of the World Bank, they have control of the piggy.:wow:

3. The only thing the bush** administration planned for was the looting
of both Iraq and the American treasury. Other than that those clowns didn't have plan one.

4. When we first invaded, the general in charge immediately started
setting up an election for a new president. He was removed. They are after the oil. As long as Iraq is a mess, they have an excuse to stay there. They need a government that is friendly to the US and willing to see Iraq's future to the US oil companies. Then there were the two recent stories of car bombers being from a US soldier and a British soldier. Also the stories about Iraqis being detained and after being relieased finding bombs in their cars or trucks. * plan is total confusion until they find a way to get that oil.

5. They don't want the oil, that's clear and too easy
Maybe some day "they" will control the oil. But the BFEE wanted quick cash, and what better place to get unaccountable cash than Iraq.

I am beginning to think they still hold a grudge against Iran, stronger than we know. And they would like nothing more in their mad quest than to turn it to glass and "teach" the Brown people a lesson for generations to come.

8. "They don't want the oil..."
What in the world?
"They" would not even be there if it werent for the oil.
And oil production is BELOW pre-war levels.
This is why I cannot fathom anybody thinking the war
is going as they wanted/planned.
Just as BushCo way underestimated the enemy in Iraq,
some Dems here way overestimate BushCo.

22. 25-10.
Not many responses.
I saw some other (non-poll) thread with forty responses and every poster
believed it was going as planned. This is more like what I figured.

24. PNAC will have the answer.
Does the prospect of region wide chaos and war & regime change in nations such as Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia fit in with PNAC's long range goals?

If so, then the current war going along just fine.

25. Doesnt it depend on the nature of the regime change(s)?
I mean, couldnt changes in Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc., result in more radical regimes rather than less? At what point does the chaos (which a third in this poll seem to think is desired, even planned, by BushCo) become a liability in PNAC's mad view?
