1. Outstanding. And hopefully we will see more of Rachel on the airwaves
she is an excellent spokesperson for the Left and Rational discourse in Amercia.

2. Too bad they had to cull Morning Sedition.
Morning Sedition is a great show. Maybe not "newsy" enought for some but it was always a great way for me to start my day: liberal perspective and funny edgy humour. I'll miss Morning Sedition dearly.

5. Riley will be on 5-7 and Maron is still in negotiations.
I almost never got to them in the morning, with my Democracy Now! and podcasting Rachel as soon as that's over....

sorry for your loss, though.

7. Rily is nothing special.
Edited on Sat Dec-03-05 03:24 AM by iconoclastNYC
Half of me wonders if he's part of the WLIB contract...that he has to be on the air. I know that why Malloy only gets 2 hours in NYC.....are there any Riley fans? I don't seem him outdoing his role as Maron's straight man.

Maron needs a political show on TV.....some sort of deal like Colbert got.

6. When Rachel's show Unfiltered was killed
Edited on Fri Dec-02-05 10:51 AM by rocknation
The first thing I said was that she ought to be folded into Morning Sedition--the gravitas that she could have injected would have balanced Mark Maron's comic relief perfectly. Maybe he'd still have a job if he'd taken my advice.

8. OMG
That does sound awesome.

Woudln't it be awesome if Rachel did NY and Marc did LA with thier local stories and then patched together for a simulcast?

Oh I'd be in heaven.

Maddow, Maron, Seder, are really the rising stars of Air America. Well I guess not Maron.

9. It'd never work
Maron loves the sound of his own voice and his narcissistic, neurotic humor. He would have been offended that Rachel had things to say or insights. Remember the AAR documentary when he got pissed about his jokes being stepped on? That's why Riley is so quiet on the show and just laughs at the schtick.

10. Not so fast there, amigo...
I like Maddow; I also like Maron. Danny Goldberg needs to get his act together and learn how to make money in modern audio. Until Goldberg (or his replacement) starts doing an effective job, we listeners will continue to suffer. Farewell MORNING SEDITION! :-(

11. i'm not suffering! I love rachel, randi and add them to my mix!
Also, is "making money in modern radio" really the point of AAR?

I think they may take The Nation more as a model: not profitable since 1865.

Call me crazy but i don't think money is the only issue here.

interesting, not settled...
