Is Rove moving Cheney off the chessboard?
Morning Sedition had someone on this morning putting forth a theory that the current "Bush-Cheney" rift

(wtf? Somehow I missed this in the MSM)

is being engineered by Rove, so that Cheney takes the fall for Chimpy's failures AND so that an heir apparent can be groomed. Cheney steps down "for health reasons" in January, we get a new VP, who then has three years' experience by Nov 2008.

1. Anybody heard anything like this? IMHO it's not quite as tinfoil-hat as it sounds.
2. If so, who do you think the Rove cabal would put in? McCain? Giuliani? Brownback?

1. Randi Rhodes said she feels sorry for Cheney
knowing that in the summer, his health will deteriorate and he will have to reason.

2. I know that too many US citizens are gullible... but 3 years experience
in this WH would be the kiss of death.

They would be better claiming they just had 3 years managing a Whore House... though yeah, is there much difference? (ok, the wh does not have a piano player)

3. That is a terrifying thought...

Because it just might work enough to make a rigged '08 election look feasible to the american public.

4. Exactly
they put the successor in as VP now and then he make the obligatory campaign stumps in 08.
Magically on election night, the numbers come out with the GOP VP on top.

I see the headlights screaming toward us now.

6. I believe it will happen. McCain. Then media goes wild on building him
up. Bush then looks good on a "team" with McCain. People would fall for it.

7. McCain?
Could Bush look good with McCain? Or would he appear even more incompetent than he already does now? I think they'll look for someone with less star appeal.

13. That's a good thought- but they could play that the way they did when **
was campaigning in 2004.

8. Or are they just playing down Cheney's activities
so his low approval ratings don't bring *'s numbers down further?

11. Sorry, * still holds the bag!
There are two evil twins. The "lesser" of the two actually has a brain, but the other allegedly "superior" twin is in fact a mere figurehead. If the smarter twin is relieved of his duties, does his intelligence automatically transfer to the dull one? I think not. What actually happens is that the "superior" twin's incompetence becomes even more self-evident once the real brains of the outfit are sent packing. Hence, a larger share of the populace can clearly see that their Emperor indeed has no clothes. And at that point he and he alone must take responsibility for his abundant shortcomings.

Did you see Imus this morning? He said Cheney didn't lie, he just didn't tell the truth. It really sounded like a set up.
