In the news on Rosa Park lateley you hear she started the civil rights movement by refusing to give up her seat to a white man...

I would like to know who that was, and what became of him? What did he think about eveything that happened since that incident.

2. Great question...
and not one most would think to consider. Kudos for your ability to notice details and perspectives most would miss.

18. I hope so
maybe he just expected it because it was the status quo. You'd be suprised what happens if you can convince people to think.
However, I doubt he went about bragging about it.

10. Was he ever identified?
Now the bus driver, James F. Blake, died of a heart attack in his Montgomery home in 2002.

14. Blake was the one who asked her to move. No passenger ever did.

See my #13. A group of whites had entered the bus, and the driver was trying to make room for them. None ever asked her to move or complained about her.

13. That man was the bus driver.
His name was James Blake.

Most people don't actually understand what happened on the bus that day. Parks actually sat in the non-white part of the bus, not the front row as many people seem to think. The bus stopped to pick up four white people, and when the driver noticed that the white area was full, he moved the "Whites Only" sign back a row and turned her "black" row into a white one so that the four new riders would have somewhere to sit. The other three blacks in her row got up and moved back when that happened, but Parks refused. She wasn't tired, or afraid, she was just pissed off at the inhumanity of the whole situation.

It was the bus driver who ordered her to move, and the driver who had her arrested. He never did apologize for his actions, always claiming that he'd just been "enforcing the rules". He remained a bus driver for decades, and finally died several years ago.

15. Interesting...I didn't really know the full story...
But she was asked to move for 4 white people getting on...wonder if they were ever quoted, or if anyone realized who they were.

17. Most don't.
There's a bit of mythology built up around Parks and the bus, but few people have actually read an accurate description of what happened. Parks herself tried to set it straight many times, but people seem to like the myth versions better.

I wonder what happened to him and I wonder if he changed his ways.

On second thought, it looked like he was just 'enforcing the rules'. God, like we haven't heard that one before.

I'm not sure, but I think they had that woman that was screaming at the black students entering the school in the 50s in Little Rock on TV once (this is the famous photo). I believe she was sorry for her actions.
