Administration response to Falluja dead -- "saddened," "tough day."
This posted by sabra in LBN:

Administration "saddened" by losses in Fallujah bombing

WHITE HOUSE The Bush administration says it's "saddened" to hear of the deadly roadside bombing that killed ten Marines in Iraq.

Press Secretary Scott McClellan says a loss like this represents a "tough day" for the U-S cause -- the kind that President Bush has warned about.

But the spokesman says the soldiers sacrificed "for an important cause," and America will be forever grateful.

Pentagon officials say the Marines were patrolling on foot near Fallujah (fuh-LOO'-juh) yesterday when the bomb went off....

As Bonobo replied in the thread, pulling overtime is a "tough day" -- not this. What's wrong with these people? I really don't know what else to say.

2. Didn't Bush just say on Wednesday that Fallujah was under the
control of Iraqi forces? No, I think it was in the 'National Strategy for Victory in Iraq' booklet.

"Fallujah, Najaf, and Samara were under enemy control. Today, these cities are under Iraqi government control."

3. Exactly how many dead Marines does it take

for a "tough day", I wonder. How many for a "not so tough day", a "so-so day", an "easy day" ...

Does it even merit more than a tiny fleeting thought in Bush's brain ?

4. As has been said a million times on DU
Hey Scott, if it's such a noble cause, and the American people are so grateful, I assume your ass is on the next plane to Baghdad.

:puke:

My sincere condolences to the families of the fallen. May they find comfort and strength.

9. That is excellent!!
Interspersed are reminders of what he knew and there he is, sociopath-in-chief, patting himself on the back. All the while, 23 families are grieving over deaths or injuries to their loved ones.

Best of all is the end, where the press throws him some zingers. They laugh at him. That alone is worth the watch.

I'm going to back to watch again.

10. Tough day? Tough day?
I heard the news on my way home from work. Tough day? This kind of comment just infuriates me. It was not a tough day. It was a death day for 10 of our citizens and a day that will change the lives of how many others? This has got to stop. I don't know what else to say either. Each one of our people and the Iraqi people that have lost their lives for this nitwit and his malicious troop's folly do not sadden me. Sadden just doesn't fit the feelings I have each time I read or hear of more casualties in this "war". What is wrong with these people is they apparently lack a sense of conscience, respect and responsibility. They are so out of touch with what makes a good person, they may as well be a different species all together.
May those that passed today find peace in whatever lies beyond, and their families and friends find some comfort, hope, and peace in their lives without those they cared so much about.
