I have seen it and have been holding my breath
waiting for tonight.
Trust me, this one hour movie is going to create a
a second civil war in this country and DUers are

Whe I first saw it, I was screaming,
"Oh my GOD! OH MY GOD! I can't
believe they are going to air this.
There is not even a weak attempt to
disguise who the characters are or what has happened

It's a movie by the guy who did "Pirhana" and "The Howling." No matter what politics is claimed for this movie, it's mostly going to be zombie soldiers killing civilians, the only thing the gorehounds want to see. There will be no politics in this thing. I'm certain it will be sheer bloodgushing crap.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see if this post was a "plant" by one of Showtime's PR people to try to get politically motivated people to tune in. This sort of deception occurs quite a bit on all kinds of movie boards; it wouldn't be surprising for them to pull such a stunt on DU readers, to get a few more Nielsen points for an inferior film.

Don't tune in for the first telecast. Wait for some reviews to come in, from reliable critics, to see whether it's a film with a point, or a piece of exploitation against dead veterans. (I'm betting on the latter.)

and you are way off base. This is a political statement disguised as a horror film. "The guy who did Piranah and the Howling" is Joe Dante and he's well known for hiding political and social allegory in his films. The fact that you have already labeled this an "inferior film" tells me you have something against either Showtime or horror movies. If you don't like them don't watch, but the rest of us will be tuning in or downloading...

In case you didn't know, pro critics are people PAID to see movies to see if they're any good. If it's bad (and this appears to be, from what I've read) they take the bullet for you. More important, you don't give the filmmaker any of your time (or money, or Nielsen ratings) unless they deserve it. If you jump in, and discover the film is offensive - too late, Joe Dante's got your ratings and your money. Sorry, sucker!

You should be especially careful of horror, because...and a little investigation will showu you it's true...nearly all horror films are right-wing. The right wing is powered by fear. Guess who taught them that fear can be an effective way to keep people in line and force them to surrender their money and attention? Horror film directors.

Go back and read your copy of "From Caligari to Hitler." It's as true today as it was in the late 1940's. "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Saw II" were support mechanisms for the Republican way of life. And, until a pro critic proves it otherwise, so is "Homecoming."

yes, I was giggling like a monkey on most of the little subtle zingers going thru, really, really well done....

You should also tell 'the powers that be' that they need to get that episode (at least) OUT ON DVD ASAP so it can be spread around... and if there happens to be a 'directors cut' (there were a few places where it felt like it was almost 'overtightned' to make it fit in the hour slot) to GET IT OUT THERE!

I'm not a zombie movie fan, actually I usually can't even sit through horror movies, but the political statement in was so overwelming, I was glued to it, and I enjoyed it very much, because it mirrored our current political situation so much. Plus I loved the casting they did in it, I mean, the Right wing pundits in the movie, remined me so much of the Rightwing pundits we see everyday on MSM, it was too creepy.

The stolen election part really got me. If anything people should watch it for the Ann Coulter character, for a good laugh. On a serious note, I thought it was well done. Who would of thought a horror movie would bring to light the stolen election, MSM bias etc. I say watch it if you haven't already. It had a tales from the dardside feel to it.
