Torture still widespread in China, says UN investigator
Immersion in sewage, ripping out fingernails, sleep deprivation, cigarette burns and beatings with electric prods - these are some of the torture methods used by China's police and prison officers to extract confessions and maintain discipline, a United Nations investigation has found.
Manfred Nowak, the UN special rapporteur on torture, said yesterday that abuse of suspects and prisoners remained widespread in China. Treatment was far worse than international norms, despite recent signs of improvement.

4. I am still horrified about the fur industry
I wrote to my senators and congressman the other day, contacted the media (thats a joke) although Lou Dobbs has a 2sec segment the other night.
I want all Americans to know what they are buying.

6. Just a question???
Are you more horrified by the torture of humans or the exploitation of fur industry.

Do you have a link for your claim about all the fur coming from China is from cats and dogs?

I find it hard to believe cast and dogs are the primary source of fur products shipped to the US. I am sure some of it is cats and dogs, but you said "all fur"
