19. I hope the terrorists that started this war are indicted, impeached
and imprisoned. That's what will begin to put a stop to this madness.

23. the word "terrorism" doesn't apply...
when one is referring to people who SHOOT BACK when they are invaded

I guess if the Iraqi army was patrolling YOUR streets, you would sit back and let them?

4. They're ALL so young AGAIN
Oh when is somebody going to STOP all this senseless and pointless waste of young lives. They shouldn't even be THERE, they should be at home with their families and friends.

5. 2 Michigan boys on that list
There'll be several more flags flying at half mast in the Great Lakes State. I see a few almost every time I drive somewhere. Very sad, but whenever I feel down I just think about all the democracy we're spreading over there.

10. Two Michigan Boys....
I am saddened too Bat Girl. Two young men who had their entire future wiped out over this bullshit war. I feel more grief as I served in both 29 Palms and Camp Lejeune. Being from Michigan just makes it even more painful.

Prayers to all of their families.

11. it is hard to think about that
Lance Cpl. David A. Huhn, 24; Portland, Michigan
Lance Cpl. Craig N. Watson, 21; Union City, Michigan

I have sons that are 21 and 24.
The moms of these 2 boys would have lived not too far from me, our pregnancies would have overlapped back in the 80s, we would have all been buying diapars at the same time, sending our boys off to school, buying them Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers for Christmas at the same time. Watching the same Saturday morning cartoons and going to the mall for a new Trapperkeeper each fall. And now their kids are gone forever, and I can't for the life of me come up with a single explanation to justify it.

12. I used to work with Lance Cpl. Huhn's mother....
She lost a daughter in an accident several years ago, her husband died less than a year ago, and now her son has been taken from her thanks to Bush's lies. May this poor woman somehow find peace in the face of what must be incredible pain and sadness.

13. Kzoo Dem...
I'm assuming you're from Kalamazoo. Do you still have contact with this poor woman? Is there anything that an Ann Arborite could do to help? Donations etc? If so, please let me know. I find her losses to be heartbreaking. How does anyone ever recover from losses like that?

15. How kind of you....
I haven't seen her in probably four or five years, however I sent a card and memorial donation when her husband died. While they aren't what I would call poor, the family has sort of struggled financially and with the recent loss of her husband, now her son, I'm sure there will be some sort of memorial fund set up for the family. I'll keep my ear to the ground and PM you with the details.

Peace

14. There were also some injured. My coworker's son is in Falluja,
and she hadn't heard from him as of yesterday.

I am sorry for the families of these young men.

Yet relieved to see that his name isn't on the list.

21. I remember when my son was there...3 times
he was mostly in Taji, but went to Fallujah for two weeks.I watched the news obsessively. It was unhealthy now,I know, but I wasn't going to be caught by surprise. And,yes, you can't help but think it's yours, and you feel a guilty relief when it's not.I absolutely despise those war criminals who are causing these families such pain.
