FOX NEWS: "Is the "war on Christmas" hurting your portfolio?"

Emailer Bernard: They had a segment on that said (I kid you not) "The liberals attack on Christmas would cause the stock market to drop and ruin the American economy" I was floored. They even had "experts" on the show to explain how bad liberals are and how bad the economy would be if there was no Christmas.

1. I'm glad for the "war on Christmas." That way...
...I know which stores are exploiting Christmas specifically, and which are exploiting the holidays in general.

NGU.

2. That is probably the dumbest thing they said this year!
Let's just blame the "liberals" for Katrina, the tsunami, Aids, and all the devastation that's occurred since the beginning of time.

Since "they" can never admit to being wrong, they are always looking for someone to blame...like the bully in the school yard does.

4. And I'm sure they were able a find a guest to appear...
...who was advocating a war on Christmas too. You know, because they're fair and balanced and all.

6. Portfolio?
You're just too darn funny! I had a portfolio once, but then I had a pension and health care, too. Oh yeah, I used to make $25.00 per hour too.

On the plus side none of the jobs I can get now have any sort of responsibility attached to them.

7. Nice way to run a Christmas war
The Dow is at 10,877 and had been climbing since mid-October until this week.

10. All this hype about the war on Christmas makes me despise the whole thing.
It isn't just me. All the adults I've spoken to are really getting sick of the politicization of Christmas. The Repubs have taken a dead dog (a non-issue) and keep poking a stick at it until they make sure the maggots crawl out. It's disgusting.

Not to mention the incessant blaring of those horrid Christmas tunes.

13. They are trying to set up a scapegoat here
That this "war on Christmas" will be the cause if holiday sales do not hit their targets.

It is the "evil liberals" fault over a "social" issue and not an economic issue with tighter and tighter budgets.

14. So, right wing pious Christians LIKE the crass materialization?
And its the liberals who think that the celebration of the Prince of Peace should be about something different than the glorification of consumerism and Santa Claus?

This is the perfect example of why the marriage of wall street and religion leads to bizarre results. You'd think that at some point religious people, even right wing nut case religious people, would see through this.

16. I guess the first one they'll put up against the wall will be
Charlie Brown. You know that little round headed kid started all of this "negativity" back with his anti-Commercialization of Christmas message back in the wild 60's. Right?

Christ in Christmas means taking out materialism not the reverse! These morons are going to feel a backlash on this.
