Why the Stonewalling If the Repubs Have Nothing to Hide on Pre-war Intell
Edited on Sun Dec-04-05 03:52 PM by The Whiskey Priest

It seems as if Senator Pat Roberts (R), Kansas is doing nothing towards finding out if pre-war intelligence was manipulated and manufactured. He refuses to issue a subpoena for information on Dougie Feith’s misinformation mill inside the Office of Special Plans (OSP) within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. As each of you know that is the office that utilized intelligence provided by “curveball” to justify the war.

“ Members of OSP included Larry Franklin, now charged with conspiracy to leak classified and defense information to a Washington pro-Israel lobby; Iran Contra player Michael Ledeen, hired by Feith as a consultant; and Harold Rhode, a staunch anti-Muslim said to have been directly involved in purging the DOD of anyone opposing the anti-Iraq policy who Feith also brought on as a consultant.”

You would think if nothing else the Republicans would be interested in finding out why secrets were passed to a foreign intelligence service.

The question is; if they have nothing to hide then why are they doing their best to look like they are hiding something?

1. Give them time - they're still trying to get their stories straight
They don't want to look disorganized in their lies.

2. They've got a lot of things to hide
From Cheney's Energy Commission to 9/11 documents to economic figures...

This maladministration is desperate to keep information away from the American people, lest they discover their government is a fraud.
