Is the gullibility of Americans a National Security concern?
I believe the extreme thinking of the far right demonstrates a gullibility that is almost unbelievable. Do you think these wingers really believe the stuff they say and repeat or do they know it is BS but go with it because their side is winning because of it. I mean it is in every paper how Iraq was not associated with Al Qaeda before 9-11 and how Saddam had never committed a terrorist act or made threats to do so, yet half of the Americans polled believe Saddam did it or was involved in planning it. Saddam never threatened America except during the brief months of Desert Storm. And not just Iraq but all the bull crap the the GOP puts forth. It is sooo blatant that it concerns me that anyone would believe it and yet so many Americans apparently do. This sort of ignorance seems to me to be a very severe National Security risk and it is because of the way Media is used in this country. Maybe it is already to late and the barbarians are at the gates.

1. No, it's the way the power elite want it.

The barbarians are in charge.

2. Yes, it's a serious problem
People who deny facts in favor of what they want to believe are by definition delusional, and that's exactly what the extremist rightwingers do. You can tell them facts, reference them, point them out where they can be read, anything like that and they will ignore them in favor of what they want to think. That's very dangerous.

3. well, we certainly see the results
of all the little personalities who haven't yet been informed that their formulations aren't worth sh!t.

Jesse Jackson tells those who've had nothing to say to themselves "I _am_ somebody" every day. The Repubelicans seem to think they need to say it too (except to everyone else, not to themselves), but what they really want is another turn at the slop trough.
