Venezuelan pipeline bombed with C4 - did they check for taggants ?
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 06:27 PM by dusmcj
CNN story

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- An explosion that damaged an oil pipeline supplying Venezuela's largest refinery was caused by government foes attempting to disrupt congressional elections, officials said.

We hafta ask: they found C4 traces, did they check for taggants ? We _really_ wouldn't want to find out that it came from US government stocks. Something about advisors operating in the area, something like that... Dogs being wagged, trouble "handling" one problem so go create another... Nahh, couldn't happen.

2. The Anti-Chavez Squads are terrorists
I read Venezuelan reports.

There is some stuff that the 'liberal' media won't report on.

They remind me of the Death Squads in the decades past.

6. I don't KNOW it was th U.S., but ...
if you were in a position to inform on organized crime and your house burns down mysteriously, you'd take that as a threat. If you're the most vocal critic of a bully state in the hemisphere and your most valuable resource is attacked, what are you to think? I wonder how Chavez is reacting.

7. Tinfoil
As the 3rd largest supplier of oil to the US Venezuela directly benefits in cash by temporarily interrupting the supply of oil.

The market reaction to this will be more expensive gas for the US.
