Did * take Howard Dean's bait on Iraq?
Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 10:07 AM by Perky
Methinks so.

http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/

Bush want to make it about partitism and Dean wants to make it about well.....Bush and competence.

This could get really interesting but Dean and better not backpedal like he did about Dixieearly last year. He needs to offer quote after quote after quote...not simply his opinion.

Take it to 'em Howard.

1. Bush elevated Dean to Full Standing in this debate
by having his little hissy fit. Now Bush is in a pissing contest with Dean -- and he has given Dean equal standing to argue with him -- as if it were a campaign.

Bring it 'on.

3. agreed Bush should have ignored it - unless the MSM wouldn't let
it drop - either way Dean has to stay on it and it was a good opening blow by Dean.

2. Bush is on the ropes, he is going after Iraq the same way he did Social
Security...and we saw how well that worked out. And the latest Quinnepac poll had everyone wanting to get out of Iraq, the only question was when. 40% want out NOW, others are willing to go for the phased option...but no one thinks we should be there in any permanent fashion.

He's screwed. Every time he gets up before a captive or pre-screened crowd, he gives us fodder. He either stumbles into a Freudian slip, or misspeaks, or gives us a jaw grinding moment.

Keep talking, Monkeyboy, keep talking!!!!

My favorite bit of that article is a "Be careful what you wish for, asshole!" notation:

White House officials have accused the news media of failing to devote enough attention to such subjects in Iraq amid powerful images of insurgent attacks on Iraqi and U.S. military targets.

Yeah, let's start COVERING Iraq, in all its' bloody gory glory. Let's have a look at some of that footage that Al-Arabiya and Al-Jazeerah seem to be able to obtain, because their reporters can move freely about the land. Be careful what you wish for, Monkeyboy, indeed!!!!

7. Will Dean get the support he needs from the Democrats?
Pelosi is on board, but what about the hawks in the party? Maybe this issue of war will at long last divide the party in a way that will create a progressive majority.
ahhhh...maybe just a dream.
Seams to me that both major parties are just the two deceased wings of the rap tor that is picking the bones of a the dead Republic.

9. Interesing that Murtha is being Trotted out to
respond to Bush's CFR speech.

Looks pretty coordinated to me but apparently some leaders like Hoyer are a bit skitish that done the wrong way it could backfire in the mid-terms.
