CHENEY: Go Ahead Punk, Make My Day
Go Ahead Punk, Make My Day
Just in case there was any doubt left about Vice President Cheney's love for the press, here's yesterday's White House pool report from Fort Drum, New York:

This from the Washington Times' Bill Sammon:

"Mr. Cheney explained he was there to have a dialogue with the troops. He promised that within about a minute he would 'kick the press out so nobody's intimidated by the presence of the cameras.' After making good on his promise, the vice president cracked: 'It always makes my day.' The soldiers laughed heartily as the reporters slunk away."

3. that always gets my goat

why are so many of the troops enamored with shrub and cheney while, when it came time for them to serve their country like they are doing, that gruesome twosome ran and hid?

5. Everyone loves a tough guy
Problem with most Americans is their brains are so deep fried in hollywood action fantasy that they wouldn't know tough if they had to chew on it.

That is all.

11. I know this is supposed to be a sign of Cheney's evil nature...
...but it's also a denunciation of the press. Had the news media been doing their jobs for the past decade or two, we would never have heard the phrase "Vice President Cheney," and soldiers would be chuckling instead about the neocons and their ilk.

We wouldn't have soldiers ignorant enough to be fooled into believing that Cheney's action had anything to do with special consideration for the troops.

The media have been turned into lapdogs instead of watchdogs, and this is just another result.
