Former President Carter Doubts U.S. Military Will Ever Leave Iraq
WEST POINT, N.Y. Former President Jimmy Carter says he doubts whether the U-S military will ever completely pull out of Iraq, despite what the Bush administration says about a possible withdrawal beginning next year.

Carter was at the U-S Military Academy yesterday to sign copies of his newest book for West Point cadets.

He said he believes America will have a major military presence in Iraq for decades to come. Carter's comments come a week after President Bush told midshipmen at the U-S Naval Academy to expect troop withdrawals sometime in 2006.

1. I so respect this man's willingness to speak the truth.
Something that is SO missing these days in both camps.

3. I'm very anxious to talk to his son next week
Jack Carter is speaking at luncheon our Democratic women's group is having, he is running for the US Senate in Nevada, more exciting is the fact that we will probably have the honor of having Jack Carter and his wife for coffee the morning before at my home. We threw out the idea and have had almost 2 dozen reponses to attend in less than 24 hours. I hope it works out.

5. I'm sure he's right...
We're still in Japan, Korea, Germany, etc, etc. Why would Iraq be different?
