GALLOP: Journalists Still Better Than Lawyers
Still Better Than Lawyers
Gallup this week published their annual look at honesty and ethics in various professions--and the best news for journalists is that by a large margin the public still likes them better than lawyers.

A whopping 28 percent of Americans think journalists have "high" or "very high" ethical standards, compared to only 18 percent for lawyers and 14 percent for congressmen.

The bottom of the heap? Telemarketers at 7 percent. Top of the heap? Nurses at 82 percent. The odd thing is the runner-up: Pharmacists at 67 percent -- doesn't anyone watch Desperate Housewives anymore with its conniving druggist George Williams?
