Well, just when I thought I'd start flying again
after driving over the Thanksgiving holiday, something up and happens to convince me the traffic problems aren't all that bad and I should just stay on the ground.

1. Driving beats getting your underwear blown up on national TV
Not to mention getting shot and killed.

2. I drive anything < 300 miles.
Not every trip saves time, but I guarantee I do over the course of a year.

3. WEll I opt to fly! Stuff like this happens once in a great while on
a plane, but I live a little north of Atlanta, and not a day goes by when there's not a bad accident on one of the interstates.

Guess we all have to make those decisions for ourselves.

4. We're going to Canada for Christmas.
I don't like to fly, but a three day drive in unpredictable winter weather would be even worse. Sigh.

5. Flying was safe on 9/11.
Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 10:58 PM by MercutioATC
There were 4500 planes in the air and we lost 4. That means 99.912% of the people flying that day were fine.

It's a hell of a lot more than we usually lose, but a 99.912% success rate isn't "unsafe".

if you are bipolar.
