Newscorp Peppers Headquarters With Nativity Scenes...

The Huffington Post | Posted December 7, 2005 03:55 PM

The Huffington Post has obtained pictures of nativity scenes spread throughout Newscorp's New York headquarters. According to a source, Rupert Murdoch has ordered the scenes to be placed on the front reception desk of every floor of the building. The scenes have caused resentment among some Newscorp employees.

Last week, Newscorp-owned Fox News changed the name of the "Holiday" ornaments it sells on its website to "Christmas" ornaments.

Though the company is clearly celebrating Christmas in some places, it is hosting a "Holiday" party for its employees this year, not a "Christmas" party.

1. Real schizoids
Most of us are wondering why this need to push Christ into a commercialized holiday. Really cheap.

12. It wasn't all that long ago that the religious whackjobs were
screaming about the over-commercialization of Christmas . . .

13. I'm sure somebody will eventually figure out
how to concoct a "war on Easter" scenario.

5. I love Nativity Scenes- but making them mandatory?
Seems kind of strange- like he is politicising Christmas.

11. I don't need the Australian Rupert Murdock and his Saudi
money men telling me how to spend my Holy Days. Sorry to be xenophobic about the matter, but this really gets to me. Rupert needs to send all his screaming heads back to their cubes to play with their loofahs, smear themselves with falafel, check their dating services, write their porn and keep up with their stock portfolios. Or maybe just report the news? News? What's that?

I am sick of this. Anything with FOX on it, I am boycotting. Totally.

I don't really believe in boycotts, but when I make up my mind about a boycott, I follow through. Just ask Nestle's. I have been absolutely boycotting them since the 80's.

Peace on Earth. Goodwill toward men/women/children.
