"When Does Free Speech Become Treason?" puke alert
:puke::puke::puke::puke::puke:

This lady is a major whack job. I somehow get the feeling that she wants her readers to believe that all who want to bring the war to an end are leftist traitors. Maybe it's because she uses that word in nearly every sentence of her crazy article.

And all the unbelievable bloodshed in Iraq over the last 2 and a half years? Not to worry-- the Iraqi people are used to chaos.

Geeze!

When Does Free Speech Become Treason?
By Barbara J. Stock

December 8, 2005

At almost the precise moment that some leftists were proclaiming Iraq a total loss, a plane carrying the newly printed ballots and ballot boxes for Iraq's first true, democratic, and free election were being unloaded in Baghdad.

<snip>

Leftists claim our troops are seen and hated as an "occupying force" and want us to leave now and never return. Just a few months ago, the mantra of the leftists was that there were not enough troops in Iraq to do the job, now they say there are too many.

The Iraqi people are used to chaos. For them, life goes on. Yes, there are bombings and kidnappings, murder, mayhem, and death in some areas, but according to Senator Lieberman most Iraqis seem to believe Iraq is better now and will be even better next year. One would never know this by listening to Nancy Pelosi or Congressman John Murtha. For people who think as these two leftists, winning is not an option. In fact, winning is impossible. Congressman Murtha has declared our military broken and living "hand to mouth."

<snip>

These leftist politicians are probably held in high esteem--by the enemy. Democrats have compared our soldiers and their "tactics" to Nazis and Pol Pot. Democrats have called our soldiers everything from losers, too weak and incompetent to win the war in Iraq to being terrorists who use Nazi-like tactics.

When is the line between legal objections to the war and treasonous statements crossed? When does "free speech" begin to give aid and comfort to the enemy? When American troops are on the battlefield, is it treason to refer to their actions as terrorist acts? Does it give the enemy hope when powerful people declare that the war all but lost and that our troops are criminals? Of course it does!

2. Free speech might become treason
if someone gave a secret location of soldiers and got them killed.

Or did something like out a CIA agent who was part of a program looking into real weapons of mass destruction, endangering the people connected and shutting down the network.

Or...maybe it would be treason if you distorted some facts and hid others and made up others so you could get authorized for an illegal war, invade a sovereign nation and cause the death of thousands. That could be treason.

So I guess she is right. Sometimes free speech can be treason.

10. when did that happen?
"if someone gave a secret location of soldiers and got them killed."

Is that hypothetical or did that actually happen? Since the next two actually happened, I assume the first must be likewise, but I don't remember hearing about anything like that.

25. No, the first I mentioned didn't happen
that I know of, it was purely hypothetical.

In fact I was thinking of hypotheticals. When could free speech be treason? Opinions would not be treason, but what speech might be?

I thought of some hypotheticals, but I only thought of one hypothetical that hadn't happened.

30. Ever wonder if he lays awake at night and thinks he might be confused?
Remember the old Bevous and Butthead skit when one of them tried to get an idea? Someone striking a wet matchinstead of the lightbulb, just kind of smoked once and then the idea went away..

9. What a babbling bushbot........
another meat-head completely divorced from the reality of the situation in Iraq.

" When Senator John Kerry sought out a microphone to babble nearly incoherently about benchmarks versus timetables, it was noted that weddings in war-torn Baghdad are on the rise as young couples find they now have the hope of a future in a free Iraq.

Congressman Henry Reid claims the fledgling Iraqi military and police are just using our troops and we should "remove their training-wheels." Reid believes that if left to the Iraqis, American troops would be in Iraq forever protecting them because the Iraqi people are apparently too lazy to protect themselves. Reid simply ignores the thousands of Iraqis that have died trying to do that very thing."

"To babble nearly incoherently about benchmarks versus timetables......." :wtf: apparently she hasn't listened to GWB speak on various subjects, if what he says makes sense to her then she is truly disconnected from reality. Talk about incoherent babbling... :eyes:

Thousands of Iraqis HAVE died, a vast majority of them from American "smart" weapons that "pinpoint" their targets. Most others have been the victims of "dead ender insurgent" attacks. A great minority have actually died because they were defending Iraq's "fledgling Democracy", the bulk of the fighting has been done by American troops.

This woman, as usual for a head-in-the-sand, bush apologist, doesn't have the slightest inkling of what she's talking about. She blindly repeats the nationalistic, GOP sponsored talking points as if they're gospel. This is the GOP way though, spout the lies then accuse anyone not agreeing with the lies as a treasonous danger to our "Democracy". :eyes: Go have another moon-pie and RC Cola, nit-wit.

20. Henry Reid?
Funny how they claim all this stuff is going on but there is no proof of it. No photographs or any video documentation and reporters there all strongly disagree. So when has she been in Iraq?

14. It's "Free Speech" when Repukes are attacking a Democratic president
who is fighting terrorism.

It's "Treason" when Democrats are questioning a Repuke president who chose to go to war unprovoked by the nation he's bombing . . . and using the Democratic president's words as "evidence" . . .

YOU are the ones that convert people to terrorists out of desperation! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, REPUBS! ALL OF IT!

Where did she get that BS? Wow, ignorance is in full force with this one. So is Chuck Hagel now a leftist? Walter Jones? Someone should send them the memo. If the Iraqi's believe it's better now why do 80% of them want occuping forces out? Why do 43% of them think it's justifiable to kill occuping military forces?

21. She left out the "Stab in the back". Worked for Hitler.
Ah, yes. The tried and true "stab in the back" (by the left) that Hitler used. The same that has been in vogue about Vietnam since 'Murka got it's ass kicked out of there. We can expect the same when the politicians and generals finally acknowledge the obvious defeat in Iraq.

22. So, Babs, tell me - who IS "the enemy?"
One minute, it's Osama bin Laden. The next minute, Nero is no longer interested in him, and so Saddam Hussein becomes the enemy. The next minute, Saddam's in an Iraqi jail, so all the insurgents are the enemy. And now it sounds like you want to make Lila Lipscomb, Cindy Sheehan, and the other Gold Star Moms the next enemy.

So when does your name wind up on the list for making it possible for more American troops to die in Iraq for a war that Nero is on record saying we can't win? Answer that one for me.

Could she provide attribution to the statement regarding "...our soldiers...and Pol Pot." Could she provide us attribution to which democrat has said our soldiers are losers?

Free speech can never be treasonous. By definition, free speech is just that, free. What a load.
