Rumsfeld Retires, LIEberman replaces him. no really
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/372921p-316984c.html

WASHINGTON - White House officials are telling associates they expect Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to quit early next year, once a new government is formed in Iraq, sources said yesterday.
Rumsfeld's deputy, Gordon England, is the inside contender to replace him, but there's also speculation that Sen. Joe Lieberman - a Democrat who ran against Bush-Cheney in the 2000 election - might become top guy at the Pentagon.

That's not as farfetched as it might first appear.

The Daily News has learned that the White House considered Lieberman for the UN ambassador's job last year before giving the post to John Bolton, a Bush adviser said.

-------the nightmare never ends----------

1. As much as Lieberman makes me ill, he would be a vast improvement...
...over Rumsferatu (actually, my Airedale would be a vast improvement over Rummy).

9. Like I said, ANYONE would be a vast improvement over Rumsfeld...
..who will go down in history as the most vile, inept defense secretary in our history. Would you rather see Rumsferatu stay in the position?

17. How would it be different?

Joe is one of two Honorary Co-Chairmen of a committee that is made up of the same people Rumsfeld has signed a death pact with.

It's a machine. The same parts replace the previous parts.

that Lieberman is making a conscious effort to take Rumsfeld's place.

13. Blame game.
If they put a Democrat in the post, they'll turn around and blame "the Democrats" for all our ongoing failures in Iraq. He's a fool if he takes the post.

15. Joe LIEberman is ugly and evil enough to take up the slack for
Rumbo.

We all hold this horseshit to be self evident, that Joe is a heartbreaker and a lifetaker unequaled this side of holy Hell. A man among boyzz, in the olden golden military profession.

Unlimited Combat Valor-R-Us = Sgt. Joe "Fury" LIEberman...right?

I guess Joe got quite upset at his country and his party, when we didn't all gang up and vote for him for pResident last year, like he expected. You could see the shock and awe in Joey's face, when he got less votes than any other dog in the hunt. Zell Miller look alike contest winners like Joe do not ALWAYS a healthy candidate make. But you live and learn, or at least that's what an intelligent life form would do.

I guess all Joe's vast military experience in the holy wars and those thrilling dogfights over Broadway and Hollywood, that he has under his belt and sprinkled throughout his impressive, distinguished and massive military jacket,:sarcasm: would indicate that Joey could probably qualify for the job, simply by applying the often used 'Mike Brown Crony Scale of Dead Weights and Measurements', for hiring gubmint flunkies and yes men. Joe probably has won more military decorations that the pResident himself has! Joe could probably go to Iraq single handed and "Do a heck of a job" of kicking some major ass and taking some major names. Joey is a lean mean fightin' machine if I never saw one!

I'll bet every Gi in Iraq, in his most perilous hours in bloody combat, has sat down beside fields of willy pete charred bodies and blown away infrastructure and ask himself, "What would a lean mean war machine war hero like Joe LIEberman have done, if he were in my boots on the ground?" A VAST Gung Ho "Military Mind" like Joe's, is just about par to head the Re-pig Crony Corps at the Pantygone!

16. If it does happen
The Governor of Connecticut will get to appoint his successor.

She's a Republican.

So for at least one year, there will be an additional Repub in the Senate.

The good news is, that the Dems can nominate someone decent to run in the Senate race in 2006.
