If I Am Not Mistaken:
Our gay brothers and sisters are charged with the same civic duties and tax burden as everyone else. Further, are they not therefore entitled to the same liberties as anyone else as outlined in our Bill of Rights?

If this is not so, should there not be a Gay American Tax Credit Act? After all, they make the same contribution to our nation as anyone else.

. . . Just a thought.

1. Oh, how I've pondered that
and why exactly I'm forced to pay taxes towards a war I don't support and to pay the salaries of officals who get to pass laws that deny me equal rights. Though to be fair, my rampant unemployment since Bush took the throne has made precious little of what money they've extorted from me.

2. The problem with that line of thinking
is that virtually everyone can come up with aspects of the system they don't use, and therefor shouldn't pay for. Don't have kids in public school? Why pay school taxes? Don't own a car? Why pay for highway improvements? And so on.

It's a simple matter of doing what's right to give our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters full civil rights, including the right to marry, adopt children, and so on. Pretty much everyone contributes, and we don't want to focus minutely on who pays how much for what.

3. However, not everyone suffers INSTITUTIONAL DESCRIMINATION.
Big difference
