Merry, Happy, Rejoice, Whatever -a modest list of holy & seasonal days.

If you know of any significant other days of celebration, please add them. There must be more celebrating the end of the dark days. Also, Rosa Parks Day is on the 1st day of December, Human Rights Day is on the 10th, and The Bill of Rights Day is the 15th. MLK Day is January 17th, FDR's the 30th.

I think the Christians pretty much dominate the entire two months. But it's not ALL about Christmas as we so well know. Why are the Focus people and that ...whatever group so whining about? They are trying to homogenize the entire season. I'd call them Bullies for Christ, but that could offend the true Christians.

And every day (maybe even of the year) is a saint's day.

The Advent season: the four weeks before Christmas, hence the Advent calendar and Advent wreath.
Traditionally Christmas has 12 days.

Dec. 6: St. Nicholas Day
12: Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
13: St. Lucia Day (it's about the lights)
21 Winter Solstice
24 Christmas Eve (also Eggnog Day)
25 1st Day of Christmas
25-Jan 2 Hanukkah
26-Jan 1 Kwaanzaa
26 Boxing Day (English servant day off, received boxes from their employers)
31 New Year's Eve
Jan. 1 New Year's Day
Feast of Saint Basil
Japanese New Year
Last Day of Kwanzaa
Jan. 2 Last Day of Hanukkah
5 Twelfth Night (No, not the play, begins the end of Christmas)
6 Epiphany, (wise men) La Belfana's Day in Italy (presents for the kiddies)
7 Orthodox Christmas
21 Eid-Al-Adha (Islamic holiday about the willingness to sacrifice)
29 Chinese New Year

This list didn't come out right.
