The liberals are being "Giftboated"" by the hard right.

I am so worn down from the blowhards on the right, who insist that that liberals hate Christmas.

This is a concerted public-relations ploy--developed by Karl Rove and Company--in the bowels of some dark room--as they smoked their cigars and drank cognac.

"Hey Karl, I like your idea about positioning the liberals are Santa bashers, Jesus haters and Christmas Grinches. This works baby. It sings. We'll use our mouthpieces in talk radio to spread the word that when liberals hear "Away in a Manger", their heads spin. If we spread rumors that the liberals want to murder Christmas carolers and drown the Christians in egg nog--because their hearts are ten sizes too small--we may be able to cull more votes for 06."

A person who actually believes that liberals hate Christmas--is a misguided, naive sucker who needs to wake up the real spirit of Christmas.

The spirit of Christmas is about love, peace and joy. It's not about feeling superior and hating half of the country because Rush Limbaugh starts rumors or because Sean Hannity's ill-informed negativity is so captivating.

I'm off now--to hang up some more Christmas lights and make cut-out sugar cookies with my kids.

I honestly think someone thought this through. They MUST maintain the US against THEM atmosphere or their carefully constructed house of cards will collapse.

Somehow I fear the push for Alito is to involve his religion against the Anti-Christmas Liberals.

The heart of the matter is the scandalous failure to live what we preach. The tragedy is that poll after poll by Gallup and Barna show that evangelicals live just like the world. Contrast that with what the New Testament says about what happens when people come to living faith in Christ. There's supposed to be radical transformation in the power of the Holy Spirit. The disconnect between our biblical beliefs and our practice is just, I think, heart-rending.

I'm a deeply committed evangelical. I've been committed to evangelical beliefs and to renewing the evangelical church all of my life. And the stats just break my heart. They make me weep. And somehow we must face that reality and change it.

When I was a child my family drove a station wagon straight through from Texas to Florida every Christmas. To stay awake, we would find the most objectionable radio program we could find. As long as I can remember, some religious program would go on about the attack on Christmas. My parents said that these same arguments had been going on since they were children. The difference is that now we have mainstream demagogues going on about it. It used to be twerps that exploited radical or ignorant Christians. Now these twerps are given main stream programs.

Show me one liberal who ever made an anti-Christmas statement. There are none.

Michael Moore, Howard Dean, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, MoveOn, the ACLU (all the usual suspects) are silent.

You'd think that even one of them would have an OPINION on this WAR on Christmas, no?

I had to catch the re-run tonight. Apparently Bill O'liely made a comment about a bit on TDS last year about Christmas....

So Jon was calling him and the rest of the "liberals hate Christmas" gang out.

I don't listen to those idiots. They only exist for entertainment purposes. :D
