3. that's what I was thinking too...
Nip the Regan worshiping neocons in the bud, and let Carter get our nation on the road to conservation.

4. 1980.
Yeah, it started long before him but he was, and still is, the standard bearer for the Reich wing takeover. We still haven't gotten most of the "Reagan Democrats" back.

8. Nixon and Poppy.......I know Reagan was a disaster for Dems...but Nixon
was the start....If we could have "nipped him" and Rummy and the rest back then..maybe we wouldn't have had Reagan...or even Poppy...

But, both of them....:puke: Reagan was the Repugs "Tool" after Nixon went down. I don't know why but I hold him less accountable because he was a "product of." Poppy was just evil like his hideous son...and the Bushies wouldn't have had power if again it wasn't the bitterness that the Dems brought down Crooked Tricky Dick...

10. 1968
Because that's the one where everything really began to go wrong.

Though, when I think about it, it wasn't just the election that I would reverse. If in some parallel universe Bobby Kenndy hadn't been killed, I can only imagine what shape America would be in today.

14. My first instinct was 1980
but 1968 would have been a good one to switch also.

16. Like everyone has said, 1980
Reagan used Iran to influence the election and discredit Carter by dealing with an enemy. Thats treason in my book, or it would be if there had been a formal act of war declared against Iran at that time.

Old Prune Face and Bush I should has been strung-up by their thumbs and lashed, for dealing behind the scenes with Iran to influence the election by agreeing to sell them war material in exchange for Iran keeping the hostages until after Prune face was sworn-in on January 21, 1981.

There is nothing these Republicans will not do to get into power. Corrupt through and through, rotten to the core.

Then after getting elected, Prune face and Bush I started dismantling FDR's 'New Deal' legislation that maintained balance between unions/corporations, prevented banking fraud and various other social legislation that guaranteed a stable social system. Shall we say balance between the classes was built into the system prior to Reagan.

The Dixiecrats, conservative Republicans, and Reagan declared war on the poor and the middle class. And started to reduce the taxes on the upper class at the expense of the middle class.

We can blame the problems we are having today as started with Reagan administration.

I still say piss on his grave, the old bastard.
