Go Joe, Go!!!!!
It is rumored that our very own "Joementum" may replace cRummy as Sec of Defense. Hell Joe, woo-hoo, let me be the first to throw you a party, as you finally join your party  Don't let the door hit you on your way out, um, I mean way up

1. If he goes....
Will there be a Special Election? That is how "Mean Jean Schmidt", from Ohio, got into the House. I think it was when Portman tool an new position. Paul Hackett ran against her......

2. Dunno how it will work
When Corzine took the NJ Gov seat, he got to choose his Senatorial successor. Also, when Duke "future jailbird" Cunningham leaves office, their will be a special election for that seat. Maybe the rules vary by state and circumstances...

6. In the senate, the governor of the state gets to name
the successor. In CT that would be Jodi Rell (a repub). She would nominate either Shays, Johnson, or Simmons, who all would toe the repub line.

Not a good scenario, as we would lose another dem vote in the senate.

10. It's a lose-lose-lose situation.
The "best" scenario is for joementum to stay in the senate.

4. this strikes me as banana republican disinformation
i just can't see joe kissing another presidential run goodbye, and this is one of the few sure-fire ways to completely eliminate a run.

5. So we can expect more of the same........
from the DOD with Joe as Sec-Def? Nice to think that holy Joe is "on board" with the bush foreign policy agenda. :eyes: At least we may get a real Democrat elected in his place.
