CSPAN-Those who have been in Iraq only -- Good news witnessed?
This call in is really backfiring on Mr. Lamb. He's not getting any calls that tell of good news in Iraq. Anyone else listening?

3. More Lamb propaganda TV.
This caller is upset because all the media is into is body counts. Right. We should just ignore our soldiers who die? "We are all behind Bush, it's not as bad as portrayed on the news." That explains HIS opinion, eh?

5. One guy called Bush a visionary...
but when Brian asked him if he was still serving, he said no, he was out. Why leave the service if this is the opportunity of a lifetime?

8. Okay let's Talk, Talk, Talk about reconstruction in Iraq, opening schools
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 08:01 AM by Skwmom
etc. So they think the American People will support spending hundreds of billions on Iraq Reconstruction (money we are BORROWING from China, Japan, etc). Why isn't the oil revenues from Iraq paying for this? So by all means let's talk about reconstruction in Iraq and the hundreds of billions of debt we are taking on to do so. It is going to drive the "I only care about my tax cuts, it's my money" crowd crazy.

9. I think Lamb must be really uncomfortable
True, a few used the PC talking points but those were conspicuous. "We're rebuilding schools..." If it wasn't for the apparent Arab disdain for dogs, I think we would have heard those same sheeple talking about how our soldiers were saving Golden Retrievers and Poodles from danger. And don't forget the apple pie.
This call-in jour was a disaster for Brian Lamb.
He summed up at the end of the hour: roughly 13 calls from enlisted troops and 6 or 7 from officers.
I heard little other than complaints of mismanagement, ineffectiveness and despair.
And then there were the handful of cheerleaders, none of whom could be specific about the 'positive':
what schools were rebuilt?
where is the electricity working?
who has access to clean water?

Bullshit

Have a good day Mr Lamb

16. wounded soldier, med. discharge...
saw most cities in Iraq. In each place for 2 months, things improved, water and electricity. While they were there.

No mention of the insurgents moving in and taking back over, so we return and bomb it all to hell again. (Fallujha).

rinse and repeat. :(

11. I heard the last caller - a woman
She said most reporters don't have a clue what is going on because they are stuck in the Gree Zone. I didn't know where she was going with this, but then she said one reporter, a British reporter, was all over the place, and his reporting was negative. Then she ended with saying that the reason there is no good news being reported is because there is not much good news.

I love it when propaganda backfires.

17. I saw the replay of the troops calling in...and it is
...definetly is Fascist Fridays on Cspan - I wasn't too sure about Brian Lamb being pro-gop until this morning when he was taking callers, who were soldiers, about the good things going on in Iraq & how media is not reporting it. He was definitely frustrated when the first 10 or so soldiers who called in had nothing good to say - no specifics. These calls weren't going his way & he kept wanting officers to call in. When he finally did get one to talk about 'good' things he coxed him & let him ramble forever... Overall it didn't come out the way he wanted it - Guess you shouldn't ask a question you do not know the answer too.

19. What about the wounded for life !
How many thousand of U.S. and Iraqies will be wounded for life from the exprience of this un-needed war .Missing arm ,legs and permanant metal disabilities from this war, just like any war. War is the ugliest side of our world ,when extremist gain enough popularity to get thousands to folow them into this maddness. WW2 was a perfect example of what can happen when someone with extreme views ,either thru lies or harrasment ,becomes all powerful and then rings a bell that cant be unrung ! When I watched Saving Privaate Ryan ,I thought how that beach landing at the first 20 minutes of the movie, showed perfectly just how insane war is ,seeing all of these young men being blown apart , there should always be a better way ! Perhaps WW2 was unavoidable ,however this "war" in Iraq surely was avoidable ,and we all know who should be held accountable for the death and destruction ,and its not Sadam !
