Per Tweety: Lieberman won't take Defense job
Tweety said this on the "Today Show." He said that Lieberman wouldn't give up a Senate seat where he is among "the most respected members" to take a short-term cabinet post.

4. Chances are Lieberman's seat is safe
His poll ratings are high in the state. The only real threat would be in a Democratic primary and only if a credible candidate challenged him. Otherwise in a general election I think he would win easily.

2. Good point--that could be a VERY short-term cabinet post
if this whole rotten enterprise is impeached and convicted, should both houses of Congress change hands in '06.

Just sayin.

5. Wouldn't he be in a good position for '08 though? Lots of "face time"
in the media and when he starts to move the troops out he would appear to be a savior. I can't stand him but I can see his weasel brain evaluating that scenario.
