'Time' to Publish Reporter's First-Person Account of Testimony in CIA Leak Case

NEW YORK Special Prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald questioned Time magazine reporter Viveca Novak under oath yesterday about a conversation she had with the attorney for presidential adviser Karl Rove involving the Plame/CIA leak case.

Now Time says it will publish her first-person account of her testimony in next week's issue, and online on Sunday.

"To be fair, I need to speak with Viveca now that she has testified under oath," Time managing editor Jim Kelly told the Washington Post. "We felt it important to let Viveca prepare for her testimony. Now we'll be looking at the questions that have been raised by this whole incident."

The testimony reportedly focuses on a conversation Novak had with Rove's lawyer, Robert D. Luskin, who was deposed last Friday. The Post reported today that sources "familiar with their conversations say Novak's and Luskin's accounts to Fitzgerald appear to conflict on when they spoke."

1. If we're lucky, Rove is toast.

2. I think it's just a matter of time. Luskin did everything
he could to prevent and indictment in October. It appears the Novak testimony is key in the defense. It appears that defense is crumbling.
