Carlyle Bidding On Food Chains

2. Good-bye Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream!
Served up by the Carlyle Group, it would only leave a bad taste in my mouth anyway.

10. What you do is, first you drive the price down
For example, with chains like these, you get the public all hyped up about "junk food" and its dangers to the heart. (The dangers are real, but what the hype and the people ignore is that you can beat the dangers simply by LIMITING YOUR EATING OF THESE FOODS.)

This drives down the share price. Good, if you want to buy stock. It also drives down the price of the whole company. Good, if you want to buy the entire company.

When the price has been driven down, you buy.

Then, as the hype subsides, the share price and the company value begin to rise. Ta-da! You got a bargain!

12. Surely You Have a Real Bakery Around There Somewhere
Any real bakery can make better doughnuts than Dunkin' Donuts.
The only thing DD has going for it is that they're open late.
