New DU Groups: Brian Schweitzer; Hurricane Survivors; Islam; More...

We now have more than 100 DU Groups, which makes it very difficult for members to keep track of which ones are new. With this in mind, the DU Admins are going to make more of an effort to spread the word whenever new DU Groups are created. Today we just created the Brian Schweitzer Group. In case you missed them, here is a list of all the DU Groups created in the last six months:

Remember, if you ever want to see what DU Groups are new, just visit the thread titled New DU Groups, which is pinned to the top of the DU Groups folder. The newest DU Groups are always posted at the top of the list.

SOME OLDER DU GROUPS ARE GOING TO BE SHUT DOWN
As promised, some of the older, underutilized DU Groups are going to be shut down, probably before the end of the year. When deciding which DU Groups will be shut down, we will consider: 1) the number of people who have included the Group on their "My Forums" list, 2) the amount of traffic a Group gets, based on number of postings and number of page views, 3) the age of the group (only Groups that are at least six months old will be considered for deletion).

There are some that I look at occasionally and if I know they were deleted I won't be searching for them needlessly.

I didn't know about the whistleblower group :thumbsup:

I'm trying to keep the Edwards group as updated as I can for future reference as we get closer to 2008. I'd hate to lose all that "hard work" :)

If you must, perhaps you can use the GWU PAC guide? Here's the link, I'm not sure of the deadline for these candidates, but I know they have to raise a ton'o'money:

I think most of DU Democrats' supporters forums have PACs now? I wouldn't delete any potential candidate forum with a PAC. Just my 2 cents :hi:
