SNOW DAY!
I knew I wanted to teach after I got out of the Army, but I've got to say, some days are better than others!

1. Here in VA & DC, a single flake makes it a snow day.
Instantly, they close every school. It's idiotic, but it sure makes my commute easier. I breezed in in 6 minutes this morning, vs the usual 20 minutes. Take the buses off the roads and life is good!

5. I'm right here in Fairfax County.
Woke up to an inch and a half of snow/ice mix and no school! I feel like I stole something!

7. I grew up in Buffalo.
We got huge storms several times a year. I only recall a couple of snow days, other than the Blizzard of '77 which literally did bury houses up to the eaves. We got 10 days for that I think.

2. Teaching keeps you young-
at heart at least. You can delight in a good snow day as much as the kids.

4. Good for you!
Here in Denver, it takes 12 inches of snow at least for the schools to close. So when a snow day does come, the kids rejoice!

You can't handle a little snow? Every day is a snow day up here.
