Wow, I cannot believe the venom being spewed because a killing is questioned.

Tasers are good and the only people who die from being tasered deserve it, there is no redemption for an evil act other than death, the mentally ill are okay to kill if they are off their meds... On and on and on it goes.

BUT!!!!

Thank god, it's only a small (but very vocal) contingent that seems to feel that authority should never be questioned. On the other side, they are probably the most well armed DUers as well, waiting for the black helicopters, I guess.

Which makes me wonder. Why are the death penalty proponents, pro authority and gun people also ready for the very authority figures they praise to turn to the dark side so they can unlock their gun safes and protect themselves from the hoards of evil Americans that are waiting with baited breath for gun control so that they will then be the only people with guns (or the evil vague shadow government)!!!

I'm sorry, I think that kind of thinking calls for meds at least or at least some sort of 12 step program.

1. Of course, or they wouldn't have been shot in the first place, right?
Police shoot criminals or "bad guys" as they prefer to say. So if you are shot, you must be a criminal.

:sarcasm:

as unbelievable as it seems. "just world" folk need an unfortunate incident or two of their own before they'll wake up.

8. Yes, they have to make a decision, so right or wrong,
it's always right.

Unfortunately, the same laws don't apply to their victims.

4. I'm a gun owner

Who thinks the feds overreacted in the Miami airport shooting.

EDIT: I believe they're making that part up about him saying he had a bomb just to cover their asses. I also rarely leave home without a gun.

So I wonder where that leaves me on the DU spectrum.

7. The 'DU spectrum' is more of a disk than a linear scale
I don't think you're as much of an oddity here as you might think you are. Having an opinion about what happened in Miami and owning a gun are really unrelated issues.

6. I believe in investigations before lynching anyone.
I think everyone at DU believes in questioning authority but opinions differ as to how many facts are required before passing judgement. I don't know enough to lynch anyone yet although I certainly believe in an investigation. However, I am sure the Marshals did not go gunning for anyone they thought was mentally ill because they have a vendetta against mentally ill individuals.

9. Nonsense!!
That's exactly why they killed the poor schlup!! And now flight attendants, pilots, the Miami International Airport, Federal Air Marshals, FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, the White House, British Parliament, KGB and the Oakland Raiders are all lying because the don't want mentally ill people to get on the planes either.... Get with the program!
