BUT he is also wrong on many things.
He is great on American political history.
But his views on the American economy and how America should behave vis-a-vis the rest of the world as to the World Trade Organisation, or NAFTA or CAFTA, is just plain wrong, in my humble opinion.
He is living in the last century where he wants to live the glory days of American Economic Imperialism where the rich exploit the weak. For a liberal, like me, it is a totally untenable position.
Today, the developing economies as India and China mean a different equation which Thom seems unable to comprehend. He wants America to regain its glory, not accepting the fact that the glory was based on exploiting the rest of the world. A Bushism about Iraq?
In Thom's case, as far as subjects of Economics are concerned, the old addage "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" applies.
But he is worth listening to, although his six straight hours per day of Talk Radio Monday to Friday (first 3 hours at the local Portland, Oregon Station) is taking its toll as he tends to repeat many things on his shows and does not seem to realise that he is doing just that.
His rating has dropped sharply over the last months (from 4 to 14) on the Liberal Talk Show Ratings.
