Took the fam to church this AM...
(Roman Catholic)

On the way out, the priest was greeting the congregation. I shook his hand and he had the NERVE to tell me "Happy Holidays."

I was so incensed (pun not intended) that I came home and cracked open a homebrew and started watching the Colts game.

(true story)

1. "Holy" + "days" = "Holidays"
Sounds like your priest has a clue.

10. The fundies would just say RC is a cult! They always find a way to
explain things away. When the Pope is with them, he's fine, when he is agin' em, he is a cult leader. When they get caught screwing around with prostitutes or rent boys, stealing ladies' undergarments or selling drugs, why, it was the DEVIL who made them do it!

They love to point the finger of personal responsibility, but they have none themselves!

16. Right, every Catholic priest should know that in church, it isn't
Christmas till midnight mass on Christmas Eve. Before that, it's Advent.

So he should have said "Blessed Advent," or something like that. :-)

17. Actually, I have a hell of a time finding a midnight mass anymore....
Most of the Catholic churches in my area hold the "Midnight Mass" at 9:00 or 10:00 pm on Christmas Eve....

I rather miss the true Midnight Mass.

19. That is due to more convience than anything
They want to maximize turnout and it is not easy to get everyone to church at midnight for a 3+ hour service (depends on the pastor) anymore.

12. Call O'Riely
I think Bill should put him on that list of places and people to boycot. Damn Catholics, giving into the war on Chirstmas.
