WTF!!! A news website for the blind!!!

http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/internet/12/12/happy.news.ap/index.html

"This is asking the question, what is news?" Reese said. "News is supposed to give you a view of the world. The news media, the way it has evolved, gives you a distorted view of the world by exaggerating bad news, misery and despair. We're trying to balance out the scale."

Any surprise that this website originated in Texas.... hmmmm!!!

3. On second thought, maybe this site's not so bad

They list Fox as "unhappy news," plus their Google ads point to some anti-* sites.

OK, I'll give 'em a shot. (Heaven knows, we could use SOME good news these days)

5. austin is a liberal haven. not much like the rest of texas, politically
state capital and huge public university usually makes for liberal city.

so methinks your 'texas' comment is a bit misjudged....

6. uh... I'm not criticizing Texas...
Sorry to offend, but haven't we seen enough from Texas to at least ask the question?

Also, are you saying that something like this couldn't come out of a liberal city?

7. just wondering why drag texas into it?
why should it be no surprise that this website is based in texas?
it hardly has a monopoly on ... well, whatever category you would want to put this website in.

of course, austin is very wired and a lot of websites of all stripes are based in austin, so just the fact that it's a website at all does make austin a plausible contender for location. but the content, to me, doesn't suggest texas, or austin, any more than, say, california or just about anywhere else for that matter.
