The new price of the war on terror is a war on free speech. I have never owned a gun, committed a crime or an act of violence, yet because of some nutty hyjakkers, i can't question being censored in General disucssion on DU. Why, because your mind might become infected by dissenting opinion on censorship. Voltaire would be censored here, and asked to send an email or a private message with his comments on being censored.

So, i have but one protest, not coming here anymore. You have been fine company during this lovely time, and i wish you all good luck in your lives and in the future of american politics. May the likes of Mr. Kucinich win over america.

This is my last thread on DU, and likely my last post. You'll never miss me, and i'll cut the democratic underground bumpersticker off my car tomorrow.

I have seen a lot of dissent since the new rules were posted and threads full of it going for miles.

I'd guess it's more general, but I tend to hang in the lounge...

Why not just take a break, maybe things will get better?

'censorship' has existed. Though, keep in mind, this forum is NOT a public place. It is a privately held and facilitated web application.

You insistance that this furum be exactly what YOU want it to shows a lack of maturity. Your post a lingual 2 year olds temper tantrum. Go create your own forum and then you can be the boss.

Take a deep breath, walk around the block, get away from your computer. If your thread was locked or your post was deleted, you have every right to ask why. If you broke a rule, you have your answer. If you didn't break a rule, I've seen "locked" threads get unlocked.

The mods aren't perfect, but they do a pretty good job. Whiny "farewell" posts don't serve anything but your own ego. Grow up.

it has every right to make an inquiry.... However, the facilitators of DU have absolutly no obligation to respond or make any change as a result of the inquiry. Sometimes that seems like a hard for some folks out here to take hold of.
