That way we can do a few sums and compare the number of posts on this subject with the number of conversions. If the ratio's sufficiently high we can probably just forget about the Bush administration and concentrate on establishing the second site and who belongs on it, what it should be called and things. We can then argue for a while over the pro or anti DPers get to stay on the original site.

Alternatively, we could STOP CLOGGING UP THE MAIN BOARD WITH VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL THREADS AND START POSTING ALL THIS CRAP TO THE APPROPRIATE TOPIC FORUM.

I "split" DU using the "ignore" function this morning. Took me about 10 minutes.

forums for Liberal, DLC, Conservative, etc. Dems. This would come in handy on occasions like this so that people can hang out with like minded people and avoid the wars. Not saying all the time but sometimes you just get tired of angry thread after angry thread. (I know, I can skip them). A haven for like minded people would be nice. At least until everyone cooled off.

DU is a frantic place...with the attention span of a fruit fly. That's the charm of this place. It's passions on high boil. It's also the flavor of the moment. Next week it could be another Abramoff revelation, Fitzmas II, more torture stories or some other issue that will get the blood boiling and the threads flowing. So be it.

This place was set up for those who want to take their debates into a more specialized area where they can continue throwing verbage or finding a meeting of the minds. Generally these forums fade from view as many prefer to stay in the "main venues" around here and the turn over of newcomers make it difficult to keep the ball rolling, thus forums either fade away or become "private hangs". I consider this the "growing pains" of this place and suspect it will get even "worse" in the year ahead.

Again, I appreciate the passions here, but sometimes a little reality check doesn't hurt.
