Thank you...for helping me with my skyrocketing medical bills.
I've been really sick for the past two months, and there are only 11 doctors in Columbus who can provide the treatments I need. None of the doctors are "in network" with my insurance company, and so consequently I've had to pay 100% of the costs up front. It's $254.00 per visit, plus the cost of tests and prescriptions.

I just want to say "Thank You" to the "anonymous", and not so anonymous DU'ers who've helped my wife and I try to get through by donating here: http://www.amazon.com/paypage/P2Y8D6BFOEFP5D

Thank you, also to Judy, Beth, and Ted for everything. I know that the Western Union Online transfer is a bitch, but thanks for going through it anyway...we may still be able to have a Christmas after all.

I gotta go to the doc's now, so I won't be able to talk to you all until later. If it weren't for you guys, I wouldn't have a car to drive there, or a home to come back to.

love you.

jason

7. I didn't want to bother anyone with it, but we are now in
serious financial jeopardy.

I never thought I'd have to choose to buy food or prescriptions...

16. You can 'be' fired for anything. Legally, you cannot be, however. If you
have been fired for reporting a work-related illness or injury, the first thing you must do is find a worker's compensation attorney and speak with them right away, and hire them of course, if you have a case.

Use google, and type in your city, then "worker compensation attorney".

You should also look into disability benefits if you're unemployed.

Damn rotten run of luck... I wish you the best.

best wishes for your recovery...I don't know anything about Workman's Comp, but I'm kicking this, maybe somebody else does. Sending positive healing vibes your way.

13. From one uninsured citizen to another, best of luck.
Sorry I can't contribute - every time I get a migraine it's off to urgent care and $180 cash up front. And this happens once/twice per month. Right now I'm temping at Kelly but haven't gotten paid yet - and my wage is pitiful. Starting in January I'll be working a night shift that pays $9/hr and offers lots of OT so I should clear all of $500/week. Enough about me, I wish all the best for you and I'm glad our fellow DUers have been able to help you out. Get well soon, if possible!

14. I hope you get well soon as well! It's a shame that so many americans
are an illness away from losing EVERYTHING...and thanks to the bankruptcy bill, they'll have no way out.
