CSPAN: NOW. Clark on, followed by other Dems
Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 09:04 PM by WillyBrandt
From Tuesday. Clark sounds hoarse. I hear he's not talking, getting his voice back. He really doesn't look so healthy there: I hope he gets better soon.

Gephardt and Dean follow, I think. Lieberman might also, too, but I don't know for sure.

(a re-run, but worth watching.)

-- On edit: man, this guy's good. I admire the guy. Wow.

2. clark's voice is usually that way.
john kerry has the same thing that happens often, as bill clinton did. someone else said kerry's is a result of alergies as bill clinton's was. i assume clark's is the same.

3. Clark sounds worse than usual
Maybe it's the heavy campaigning, or just the cold he has...

8. No that's not his usual voice
he's worn it out from the non-stop campaigning and plus he caught himself a nasty cold on top of it.

I hope they get him a voice coach and he gets to feeling better soon too.

9. I'll have to watch next week. Only 1 strong and 1 weak station here.
I find that CSPAN runs a great many programs like those several times so maybe I'll see it when I return home from the ranch. thanks for the info.

10. I'm glad I got to see it

He's had that cold since his Iowa town meeting. I'm impressed that he went on for a while with it. Anyway, the speech was good.

One of the people at headquarters posted about going to see him today. He said that everything had to be written because Clark's not suppose to speak. His doctor will be seeing him tomorrow.

<edit>To answer: what did he say? The was the speech about Patriotism. He said patriotism does not belong to one party, that someone who serves in the military is no more or less patriotic than a teacher, or welder, or fire fighter.

That bush thinks taxs cuts for the wealthy are patriotic, but he is wrong.

His program is really kinda cool. He supports the bills in Congress to expand Americorps and the Peacecorps. (I've had some students who chose Americorps and it really made a difference for them.) For the rest of us, we could volunteer to volunteer if something came up. No more than six months, stipend with healthcare, and your job on return. It would either be in this country or abroad. No war zones. It could be a natural disaster or a development project where you would work with government or NGO's. He said it would help coordinate responses to emergencies in this country.

I know people think this is open to abuse...but then so is Americorp. I mean the wingnuts abuse going to church. But I would love to work in a sitution that called on what is best in me.

Clark thinks the country owes its citizens an opportunity to serve.
